Conditions for Relocations
Summary of Rental Conditions
This
document contains a brief summary of our rental conditions as well as special
conditions for relocation bookings. The full details of our rental contract do
apply. Where the relocation conditions vary from the rental contract, the
relocation conditions apply. Rates quoted are applicable for
Rental Charges
Day of
pick up and day of drop off are each counted as days of rental regardless of time
of pick up and drop off for all our vehicles.
Rental Duration & free mileage
Subject
to availability, we are offering the following days applicable per route. The
free kilometres included are also shown. Extra kms driven are charged $0.45/km on return
Transfer Points
GoVans has Transfer Points in Adelaide
(ADL), Brisbane (BNE), Cairns (CNS), Melbourne (MEL), Sydney (SYD) and Townsville
(TLN). Pickup and return times to be prearranged.
Vehicle Condition on
return
The vehicle is supplied
clean inside and out, full with fuel and water, and with waste water tanks and
toilet (where applicable) empty. It must be returned in the same condition
otherwise a cleaning fee of $500 will be charged. An additional charge of $150
applies for toilet and waste water tanks if they are not empty on return. As
smoking is not permitted in our vehicles, a $300 fee applies in case somebody
has smoked in the vehicle during the rental.
Transfer
Vehicles must be
collected and returned to the prearranged transfer point.
Taxes
Our rates include 10% GST
and 2.5% stamp duty for
Credit Cards
Our preferred payment
method is by credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and
Diners Club. American Express and Diners Club will incur an additional 4%
surcharge fee on any transaction,
Driver's Licence and Minimum Age
A valid, non-provisional,
state, overseas or international drivers licence is required. The licence
must be in English for our staff to read. The licence
must have been held for at least two years and be valid for the whole length of
the rental. If the licence is not in English, an
international drivers licence
or a valid certified translation is also required. Copies and translations of drivers licences are not
sufficient. The original must be shown at time of pick-up when the driver is
present.
The minimum age to drive the vehicle is 25 years and the maximum age is 75
years.
Please note all drivers
must be present at time of pick-up.
Kitchen and Personal
Kits (campervan and Motorhome relocations only)
Each vehicle is supplied
with living equipment (such as cooking equipment, eating utensils and tea
towels) . However, for relocations sleeping bags are
only supplied on request at a charge of $5 each per rental. Alternatively, for
$10 per rental per person we will supply a linen pack (pillow cases, sheets,
towels, sleeping bags).
Vehicle Consultation
On pick up of the vehicle
our staff will provide a complimentary vehicle consultation. This includes
explaining all the interior and exterior features of the vehicle as well as
driving tips.
Camp
Chairs
$15 each per rental.
$20 each per rental.
Baby Seats
One baby seat (must be
pre-booked) suitable for children under 3 years of age can be fitted to the Motorhome or
Booster
seats (must be pre-booked) suitable for children between 3 and 8 years of age
can be supplied for the Motorhome or
First Aid Kits
A First Aid kit is
supplied in every camper or motorhome. If the seal is
broken or the Kit is not returned the Kit becomes the property of the renter
and a $50 fee is charged when the vehicle is returned. First aid kits are not
supplied with cars but available for purchase.
L.P. Gas Refill
Service Fee
TThe gas bottle(s) is supplied full. A
service fee is payable on pick up of the vehicle:
$30 - Euro Motorhome Range
The gas bottle can be
returned empty to GoVans at the completion of the
rental. The fee applies for each part of a multiple rental.
Travel Restrictions
* For relocations, all
Vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads or access roads.
* GoVans reserves the right at its sole discretion to
restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather
conditions.
* For relocations, night driving (from dusk to dawn) is not permitted anywhere
west of a line drawn between
While you are on a
relocation rental, if you are found to be driving on unsealed roads, driving in
restricted areas and/or night driving west of a line drawn between Mt Isa and
Change of Vehicle
For relocations, we
reserve the right to substitute a different vehicle type in the event of
unforeseen circumstances beyond our control rendering the booked vehicle type
unavailable. This shall not constitute a breach of contract, however if the
substituted vehicle type is unsuitable the renter is entitled to cancel and
have their deposit refunded.
Limit of Liability
In the event of no
alternative vehicle being available to the renter due to unforeseen
circumstances beyond our control, our liability is limited to a refund of the
hire charges or deposit paid to us, or in the case of mechanical failure during
the rental (unless caused by the renter) the rental paid for the remainder of
the hire period. There is no refund for out of pocket expenses, accommodation
charges, meals or change of itinerary.
Repairs
Although we run late
model vehicles, it may happen that small repairs are required. Repairs up to
$50 may be affected without authorization and will be reimbursed. For amounts
over $50, GoVans will need to be informed in advance.
All vehicles are covered by 24hr emergency roadside assistance.
Traffic Infringements
We reserve the right to
charge the renter for any speeding or parking fines, traffic infringements, road toll fines. An additional administration fee of $60
will apply to cover the costs of processing.
Cancellation Fees
If cancelled within 12
hours of booking - No Fee
If cancelled more than 12 hours after booking or no show for pick-up: $250 fee
There is no refund for late pick up or early return of vehicle.
Booking
Amendments
A relocation fee of $700
will apply if the return location is amended during the hire. Prior permission
is required.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend
that clients ensure they take out the highest level of Travel Insurance.
PROTECTION PACKAGE
Personal Injury
The Vehicle has third
party insurance cover. It is likely that any other vehicle involved in an
accident also has third party insurance cover. Depending on the circumstances
of the accident, the renter may be entitled to claim for your personal injury
against the third party insurance of the party responsible for the accident.
The extent of such third party insurance varies in different States and
Territories and GoVans strongly recommends that all
passengers take out their own Personal Injury Travel Insurance.
If the renter is
responsible for the accident the Vehicle’s third party insurance should cover
the renter for the liability except where the renter has committed a breach of
the Vehicle’s third party insurance eg drink driving.
Property Damage
The Vehicle is insured
for damage to it or damage to the property of a third party. However the renter
is responsible up to the amount of the applicable Liability for the cost of
such damage to third party property, or to the rented Vehicle. The renter is
also responsible for the cost of demurrage for the period the Vehicle is
unavailable due to repairs. The Liability applies in respect of each claim, not
per rental. In addition to the Liability an administration fee of $60 will be
charged per claim.
The Liability is
applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the
accident is reported to GoVans, not at the completion
of the rental Period. The Liability will be refunded if GoVans
is successful in recovering the cost of the damage from the third party.
Standard Liability
GoVans’s rental relocation charge includes
a Standard Liability of $5,000. With this Option a Bond of $1,500 will be
collected.
The Standard Liability
can be reduced by purchasing the following Reduction Option:
Relocation Reduction
Option
A Liability of $500
applies. This Option can be purchased by paying to GoVans
$33 per day. With this Option a Bond of $1,500 will be collected.
Bond
With the Relocation
Reduction Option or Standard Liability a Bond of $1,500 is payable to GoVans by an open signed credit card imprint with an authorization
obtained (sufficient funds must available) for the amount of the Bond. Personal
or company cheques, travelers
cheques or cash are not accepted. Please note the
deposit paid will not be refunded if there are insufficient funds on the credit
card for the bond.
Please note the credit
card and the credit card holder (incl. Photo ID, eg
passport or drivers licence) must be present on
pick-up. The credit card holder must be at least 25 years of age.
The Bond is fully
refundable when the vehicle is returned to the correct location on time, is
full of fuel and all other terms of the Rental Contract have been complied
with. If there is damage to the vehicle on its return, the Bond will be used to
cover the cost of such damage up to the amount of the relevant Liability.
However, if the terms of the Rental Contract are breached and the Bond is
insufficient to cover the damage then any extra cost will be charged.
